Girls Trip to Houston

For several months we have been talking about taking a road trip to visit our friend Mary in Houston. Well, we finally found a weekend that we were all free!!! Although is was a short trip, we had a blast!

Kerry was my traveling buddy from OKC to Dallas!!! She is the best navigator!

We ran into a bit of traffic about 5 miles from our exit, so we decided to be adventurous. We took some back roads to go around the traffic, and I believe Kerry's phone told us to turn left onto "Farm to Market Rd" to find our way back to the highway. At this point we drove about 2 miles on a dirt road......needless to say, we made it back to the highway. We were laughing the entire time!!! It was a great start to our weekend!

Getting a little bit sleepy, maybe a little delirious from the drive......but don't worry....she has her mini brush!!!!! :o)

We had brunch on Saturday morning at a cute little place called Ziggy's. Mary told us we had to try the sweet potato fries.......so we each ordered them with our sandwich/salad of choice......she was right! They were AMAZING!

Later that afternoon, Mary took us to Sugar Land, TX!!! We got to see where she works and then we went SHOPPING!!!!

I think this is such a fun picture. The girls with their treasures!!

We took a little shopping break and had a snack! Frozen yogurt!! YUM!
After shopping, we spent a few hours at the pool, then got ready for a great dinner at Ruby Tequila's and an evening the piano bar..."Howl at the Moon"

This is my favorite picture from the whole weekend!!! It clearly shows why I LOVE my friends!

OUR 1st Anniversary!

We celebrated our 1st Anniversary with a series of events. On Friday August 13th (our engage-a-versary) we went to bricktown and ate at IN THE RAW sushi restaurant!! It was incredible! We had some time to kill after dinner, so we took a stroll along the riverwalk, and had to get a smooch picture!! After our walk, we went to Harkins Theatre and watched the comedy Dinner for Schmucks........it was hysterical! We both loved it!!!!
Saturday evening we met some friends at POPS in Arcadia, then headed to the Lazy E Arena where we watched Endurocross motorcycle racing!!! It was a great evening hanging out with great friends!

Sunday morning we went to church where we were married exactly one year before! We had a BIG lunch at Johnny Carino's. We had every intention to cut our anniversary cake for dessert, but we were so full we had to wait until dinner!!!

We finally busted out the cake and were pleasantly surprised at how good it tasted!!! We managed to eat the entire thing in about 8 days!!!

Looking a little rough from spending a year in the deep freeze..

The first piece!

The taste tester.....happy with the results!!!

YUMMY!!!

We had a fabulous Anniversary weekend and look forward to many wonderful years of FUN anniversaries!!! :o)

SPICE things up!!

We decided to be adventurous one weekend, so we took a field trip to Lowe's....picked out some paint colors and supplies, and started painting!!!
The accent wall in the living room is green! :o)

The roller king!
Weekend Warriors!!

Finished product! We love it!

And the dining room is now PAPRIKA!!! SPICY!

JULY 2010

Mom and Dad came for a visit for Dad's birthday!! We went to a Redhawks game to celebrate!! We had a great time.....even in the EXTREME heat!!

Mom and Dad!

LOVE my Dad!

A week later, we made a road trip to God's country...the panhandle of Oklahoma! We spent one afternoon climbing Black Mesa...the highest point in Oklahoma. After 8 miles, and 5 hrs in 100 degree heat (with no sunscreen...yikes!) we completed our journey.

The trail to the top was long and winding!!! On the way to the top we saw an Antelope, several lizards, and lots of hornytoads!

Almost to the top, "whose idea was this anyway?"

CAMPING/LAKE WEEKEND

With summer in full swing, Slade and I headed to the Texas panhandle to spend a weekend camping and playing on the lake with Slade's family. We were quite the wilderness buffs.....tents and all. No air mattress in our tent...(only because we forgot ours...ugh)!!! We spent the days out on the boat where Slade skiied like a champ and Shelby showed us her stuff on the wakeboard! As for the rest of us, we acted like little kids on the tube....so much fun!!! The evenings were very relaxing.....roasting marshmallows and watching the fire burn!!! We had a fabulous weekend "roughing it"!!!

Easy on the eyes :o)

EOC Fire Academy Graduation 2010

At the end of May, Slade graduated from EOC Fire Academy in Choctaw! All of our family came down for the graduation and we had a fun filled weekend!

So proud of the Hubby!!!
