Holidays 2010

Christmas 2010 was a memorable one!! We got to spend time with all of our families!! After 15 attempts, a finally snapped a shot of the pups in front of our tree!!

I always love the glow that the tree adds to the living room!
So pretty!!!

We added lights to the mantle this year!!! LOVE IT!

We celebrated Christmas in Boise City a little early since Slade and I both had to work Christmas Eve. So we enjoyed a fun-filled 4 day weekend at home sweet home!!! Mom's tree always looks amazing!!
And she has made a stocking for everyone in the family!!! The mantle is loaded!

Dad got a new electric razor from the kids. He's used the same shaver for as long as I can remember......It was definitely time for a new one!! :)

And we got Mom a Kindle!!! She was so excited....and uses it all the time!!!

Slade and I drove to Indiana on Christmas Day to visit my sister Erin's family!! My new nephew was born Dec 21st- John Parker Zimmerman! He is absolutely adorable!!!

Papa Steve and John Parker
Claire was excited to open the presents under the tree!!

Slade got some new gadgets for his fire helmet!!

I got a new cookbook, scarf, and PINK lotion!

For her "big sister" gift, Claire got to go to Build a Bear! She picked out a big Hello Kitty doll! Filled it with lots of stuffing, picked a special heart for it, gave it a bath, and picked out a leopard outfits and feathery shoes!!! She had a blast!!!

Slade's dad's family came to OKC to celebrate a late Christmas and New Year's!!! They took us to the Thunder game on Christmas eve!!! We had a great time....and the Thunder won!!! Woop!

We watched the "ball drop" in Bricktown in the FREEZING COLD, then spent the night at the Skirvin Hilton!!

The next morning we were up early and headed to Dallas, where we spent the day shopping and looking around the Gaylord Texan!!! What a gorgeous place!!! So many things to look at, and so many shops!!! We watched my SOONERS win the Fiesta Bowl on the enormous big screen at the Sports Bar in the Gaylord!! So Fun!!

They had a million Christmas trees!!!!

All in all we had a wonderful Christmas and made lots of memories with our families!!

October 2010

October is always a busy month for us. Lots of Birthdays.....OU/TX game (of course)......and Halloween. Slade had to work on his birthday this year, so we celebrated a day early! Dinner together at home with some birthday cake!!! Happy 25th Birthday Slade!

A good friend from work had a couple extra tickets to an OU game in October and she invited Slade and I to go!!! I hadn't been to a game in a long time, so I wanted to get the full gameday experience in Norman. During the early afternoon, we hung out at a taligate and watched other college games!!!

Even though Slade is a Texas fan, he was a trooper and cheered for my Sooners against Iowa State!!!

I absolutely LOVE being at OU memorial stadium during night games!!! It is the essence of college football!!!

I love taking on creative projects, so this year I decided we needed a Halloween wreath for the front door!!! Elvira would be so jeally!

Slade toughed out a stomach bug so we could attend my work Halloween Party!! We dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf!!

Our costumes from the thrift store were a success!

T-Shirt Quilts!

This past summer I decided I wanted to make a quilt out of all my sorority shirts from college. I had made a block tshirt quilt in high school, but I knew I wanted to do something different. So finally in the fall I put together 2 (yes two) very unique tshirt quilts. I absolutely love these quilts and we use them all the time!!! I really love the fact that the tshirts that were just taking up space in my dresser drawers are now put to good use!!! AND each tshirt holds a great memory from my college years!!!

Quilt #2

After finishing my quilts, I wanted to share this fantastic use of old tshirts with other people! So I started a Facebook site for my quilts! I had one customer this fall, a friend from nursing school wanted to give her husband a quilt for Christmas. I recently spoke with her and she said he absolutely loved his quilt!!!!

I hope to have more customers this year to add to my collection!! My quilt page is

CATCHING UP!!!!

Its been awhile since I've updated our blog, so I'm doing a little catching up today. I made a trip to Plano in September to spend some time with my siblings and parents! My sister Audrey has always wanted to learn how to can vegetables like our Grandma Sally did when we were little. So our goal for the weekend was to conquer the art of "canning". We got up early on Saturday and went to a farmer's market in Frisco to pick out some homegrown vegetables!! It was a beautiful morning and the produce was amazing!

We followed the recipe to a "T" and made a huge mess in Audrey's kitchen....we made the whole house smell like pickles!!

And the finished product!!! Homemade pickled vegetable relish and hot sauce!! We had a lot of fun, but we were worn out at the end of the day!

Since we were all together (which rarely happens these days), we decided to have a birthday party for my neice Claire (a little early). She turned two in October!!

She just might be the cutest thing ever!!! And she has a great personality!
She was really excited about the birthday cake!!

I'm completely obsessed with this girl!!!
